Pimples are not only found on the face, but could also be anywhere and could likely be found at the back as well. When you find your back breaking out with pimples, you have back acne. They are the pimples or rashes that are spread all throughout your back and can even reach your buttocks. You will usually find it annoying only when you are planning to wear a tube top, a backless dress or your favorite summer bandeau bikini.

Back acne happens when the sebaceous glands overproduces oil which leads to clogging your pores and then attracting bacteria. The difference between facial acne with back acne is that back acne is a lot harder to get rid of. This is because the skin on your back is thicker than the skin on your face. That is why it is more impervious to medication.

If you have not seen a sign of back acne on your back yet, then well and good. However, prevention is still better than cure. So read on for some helpful tips on how to avoid them before your back follows the footsteps of your face and breakout.

1. Ditch the tight clothes. Baby tees that are too body-hugging do not allow the skin to breathe thus trapping sweat. Opt for looser tops or ones made of 100 percent cotton.

2. Shower frequently after a spending a lot of time under the sun. You should always get into the shower after going to the gym or doing strenuous and sweaty activities. Use a body wash that is not pore-clogging to avoid trapping dirt and grime found in sweat and instead wash them away.

3. Switch sheets at least every other three days or once week at most. If you are living in a tropical country, you are sweating more and sweat from your body can breed bacteria into those sheets. Sleeping in dirty sheets won't help at all.

4. Breakouts on your back could also result from allergic reactions to your laundry detergent or fabric softener. Stop using them if they contain too strong ingredients or smell.

On the other hand, if you are already a victim, start getting rid of them now! Don't wait for your case to worsen. You choose either one of the ways below to finally say good-bye to back acne.

1. Paying a visit to a trusted dermatologist is the safest and most effective way to do away with back acne. At least then you are sure that sooner or later, you will have a clean, pimple-free back.

2. Having money always has its benefits. Run down to the spa or better yet to your derma and treat yourself with a back facial done professionally.

3. But if you are in a hurry, you could always opt for over-the-counter medications. Though they are not as promising as back facials, you could right away see the effects. Use ones that have salicylic acid. But be wary of dark spots and scars that these medications could leave on your back.
