Actually, these materials have long existed but its popularity as metal for jewelries has increased only in the past decade. With the escalating price for gold, people have learned to accept other materials for creating great looking jewelries. One of the most loved materials for jewelries today is titanium. It has certain traits that make it a good choice for rings, earrings, bracelets and even necklaces.
Titanium is actually a natural metal that has admirable durability but it remains lightweight. It usually comes in grey tone. It is also known for being hypo-allergic. It is perfect for most people who could not wear other jewelries because it causes itchiness and rashes.
Titanium can also be quite costly because it is not too easy to design and mold. It is not too malleable but that is also the reason why it is a durable material for jewelries. To be able to achieve the size and shape of the desired jewelry, certain high tech machineries and equipment have to be used.
Using titanium instead of gold or silver is also better because it can not be easily scratched. It also has low oxidation and it is not too reactive with natural factors like sweat, sun and salt water which often causes other materials to tarnish.
