The North Ari Atoll is about 45 km west of Male atoll, and it has around 18 inhabited islands, and it was the second area of the Maldives to develop for tourists, and it is now the most developed tourist area in the Maldives.

The North Ari Atoll is famed for its diving, and is one of the largest atolls in that the whole Ari Atoll is 80Kms long and 30 Kms wide.
