Evidence proves that some of the leading causes of death in the world can be prevented by improving health habits. Eating right, not smoking or drinking to excess and staying physically active are a very few of the examples of good health habits that contribute to health.

Developing a Healthy Life

To prevent heart disease, cancer, strokes, lung diseases as well a cardiovascular problems injuries and AIDs, you do need to take precautions and keep your body healthy.

There are daily practices that will help you control your health and keep you healthy.

1.Eating right is very important and consuming the right foods in the right amounts will increase longevity. Heart disease, diabetes and high blood pressure can be controlled or even prevented by your diet. Iron and calcium plus sustaining your proper weight is definitelya factor in staying healthy. Balance the calories you receive from foods with the calories you use through physical activity. It is never too late to begin eating right.

a.Vegetables are excellent for health properties. Eat dark green leafy and deep yellow vegetables.

b.Fruits are excellent and you can choose between cirrus fruits, melons and berries.

c.Dry beans, lentils, peanuts and chickpeas will help with fiber and heart health.

d.Whole grains like rice, oats, corn and barley plus wheat are excellent for mineral content and fiber properties.

e.Eat low fat foods like fish, poultry without skin, and low-fat dairy products.

Perhaps instead of listing what to eat it might be better to list what not to eat.

a.Alcohol drank in excessive amounts will dehydrate your body, cause weight gain and kill your brain and liver cells.

b.Sugar and sweets in excess will put you at high risk for diabetes and heart problems.

c.Over indulging in fatty meats, while tasty, will actually clog arteries and cause blood clots.

d.Saturated fats will also cause cholesterol problems that lead to heart attacks and disease.

2.Weight control is a constant that the medical profession is continually listing as very necessary for staying healthy. Weighing too much or even too little will lead to health problems. After 45 if you gain too much weight you will find that you are developing type 2 diabetes, heart issues, and poor mobility.

Check with your doctor to determine your ideal weight; weight is not being overly thin, it is the weight that is specific for your body.

3.Physical activity can prevent high blood pressure, obesity or excess weight, diabetes, heart disease, osteoporosis and mental disorders. Depression can be conquered by physical activity. If you move your body as often as possible you will feel better and stay at a healthy weight.

a.Brisk walking for thirty minutes a day is as good for you as running.

b.Heart smart or aerobic exercises will take the weight off and build your heart muscles.

c.Simple weight training will help build muscles that lead to calorie burn.

There is nothing earth shattering about staying healthy. It takes some time, but time is all you have. No matter what your age, body type, current health situation, you can exercise, eat right and move.
