A short time ago I saw the movie The Love Guru with Mike Myers where they used a play on words for Intimacy which really resonated for me. It said:

Intimacy translates as Into Me I See

And how true is this! I really sat with this for sometime afterwards and could really see how this is the case.

Intimacy in a relationship with a partner can take many forms, as indeed with any relationship we have. We traditionally think of it as making love with our partner but how about just hugging someone, looking a friend in the eyes as they cry through a painful experience, or sitting and enjoying some quality play time with your child or even pet.

As women we have so many gifts to give; to our children, our partners, our families and our friends. By our very nature we are nurturing, we love to listen and we love to laugh and cry together. Nothing is more important to us generally speaking than our close relationships. They keep us going and supply us with so many gifts of love and a real opportunity to be ourselves.

Intimacy is not only healthy for a relationship with our partner and friends in all its various forms, but it is also a doorway into ourselves.
It is indeed in times of intimacy, especially with our partner, that we discover our true selves.

When we are surrendered, vulnerable and open in the arms of our partners, feeling safe and loved, is the time we get to truly experience our true nature we are truly ourselves. Our walls and protection can be down as there is trust and acceptance in this space.

For some of us this is indeed the only time we truly experience this we run around all day, meeting the expectations of so many people and the world, and really taking on so many different roles and characters along the way, that we somehow lose ourselves. We lose touch with the truth of our authentic selves.

But our intimate time with our partner brings us back brings us back home to our truth. No wonder we gravitate to this space so much and absolutely love it we are naturally programmed for it as human beings, let alone as women.

A PURE REFLECTION OF LOVE BACK TO US

All of what we see around us is simply a reflection of what is going on for us inside. This is called the Universal Law of Refection, and stems from the principle that nothing exists outside of ourselves. We are all One, and All is Us; All that we see outside of ourselves is only our reflection.

As two people coming together we have no better opportunity to really explore what is going on for us than through our wonderful partners. What comes up for you, through your intimate connections, is really a reflection of what is going on for you inside.

What you see in another is what you see in yourself. This can be great if you like what you see but a little harder to swallow if you dont!! But unfortunately this law holds true for both the good and the bad stuff!
So when you see something in your partner you dont like, it is really showing you what you have yet to love within yourself. That can be tough, but on the flipside look at it this way it is the perfect time to love more of yourself. To really dive into that trait or feeling you are seeing in them, and find it within yourself and see how it serves you and in turn love it.

Through conscious intimacy and opening up more of ourselves though becoming more aware, we have an awesome opportunity to dive into our hearts and leave our minds quiet for awhile. It is here we discover our true nature one of openness, self-love, gratitude and complete presence.
So next time you are being intimate with your beautiful partner, take a moment to appreciate just how important intimacy is for you in really diving into your truth and awakening to the ever loving You even for just a moment.

See we always knew it was more than just sex!!
