Sometimes people want a natural smile after having a teeth whitening treatment and this can one of the most popular questions people ask when making their choice.

Mainly for more mature adults the thought of having teeth that look too white is not an appealing option as they strive for a more natural look that makes their teeth look healthy and younger but not necessarily like someone we see on TV or glossy fashion magazines many of which will have veneers.

The process with teeth whitening is removing the staining that is built up in the enamel which sits on top of the dentin or teeth bone. Generally teeth whitening will work much better for people with high levels of staining that is not too deeply engrained in the teeth too far.

One of the best ways is to reflect on how white the teeth looked when you was around 20 years old as the teeth are probably as white as they going to look at that age. If people used to remark on how white the teeth look then it is likely that lifestyle staining has been accumulating within the teeth and teeth whitening is likely to remove most of that.

If at the age of twenty your teeth had a yellowish colour then it is possible that the dentin under the enamel has a naturally yellow colouration and for that reason it is unlikely that teeth whitening will dramatically change these types of teeth much.

Everyones teeth can be whitened but whether you maximum whiteness or just a brighter more natural smile is really down to these two factors, types and depth of staining and the natural colour of the dentin.
Just having a brighter whiter smile for many is very appealing and in many cases just what they want to achieve after the treatment but managing your expectations is really quite essential as no one wants to be disappointed after investing in a whitening treatment.

For very heavy staining it is best to consider a professional whitening solution like zoom, laser, power or bleaching trays which will work on the deeper more penetrated staining in the enamel where the home kits are more suited to lighter staining on the teeth. The home kits tend to remove the extrinsic or exterior situated staining that is normally created through cola, light smoking and strainers like curries are not so deep.

The whitening market has lots of products that suit your lifestyle and of course your budget as some of the professional systems run in to several hundred pounds and not everyone will have level of disposal income to consumer on whitening their teeth.

Whatever you opt for it is best to have a check up with your dentist first and have a chat with them about your whitening plans as they might suggest a system that works for you. The net provides plenty of resource for research.

So to recap it is highly unlikely that after whitening your teeth will not be whiter then you remember when you were young.
