Finding legit work from home projects can be somewhat difficult, so in order to find work you will come to realize that you need to do thorough research. Below I will list a few helpful hints to help you on your search for legitimate work you can do from your home.

1. NEVER pay to work - many companies ask you for a one time fee in order for you to get work, but you should consider working at home the same as any other job. you wouldn't expect an employer to ask you for a fee before you started at a regular job!

2. Check online forums relating to working from home, people will offer you a helping hand and guide you in the right direction. You will find that many people have been in your position, everyone has to start there job search somewhere. Accept the advice being given from numerous people and then try to make a more informed decision.

3. When you find the opportunity for you, stay in regular contact with the employer. Ask them to confirm their payment method and other details so you can be clear of what you will earn. Where possible try to keep adequate records - nobody wants to be ripped off.

Some countries have now involved the local police in an attempt to combat work at home scams. The US for example have authorized the US Federal Trade Commission to align with both federal and state law enforcement to investigate and put an end to work scams. The United Kingdom the Office of Fair Trading are working with police to catch those responsible for such scams. Legislation is being put in place to protect the victims of these scams.

It is possible to find legit work, don't be disheartened by all the warnings above. Try to listen to advice given and make choices based on actual information rather than hearsay.

If you are looking for a job as a company employee or as a freelancer the following are known to be legit:

* Telesales

* Writing, blogging, reviews

* Data entry

* Phone chat

* Webcam chat

* Seller on various sites

* Online surveys.

If you choose to start up as a seller you can expect to pay for goods in order to start up. It is possible to sell items on behalf of another person although this suggests that there is something unsavory happening. Why can they not sell the goods themselves? You should try to bear all this information in mind, when you make your decision.

Personally I would suggest that you consider writing as your work at home project, to start out is easy and many of the tools needed are freely available. I have been writing on and off now for the past two years and so far my experience of home work has been very positive. Any sites that I have joined to look for work has been free, I regularly check out writing blogs and forums and I am always looking for jobs writing about things I like. You know what they say, "stick to what you know".
