If you find yourself dreading the rapid approach of winter this year, or you are reading this article during the winter, then you must be someone who suffers from the winter blues, since that is what the title of this article is about. The winter blues can be everything from just a general lack of energy or desire, to full blown depression. One of the major culprits that cause the winter blues is folks often find themselves stuck inside on the them cold winter days with nothing to do.

First of all, a person with nothing to do, is what I would consider a very lucky person, but that's just me thinking that way. I often wish there was a lot more hours in the day, to get things done, and so don't most other people, in fact a lot of us don't have time to get the winter blues. If you do find the winter blues creeping in your life this season, why not take up an activity to help shake it, like home beer brewing.

You can legally brew your own beer in almost every state of the USA, for personal or family use, except 3 states currently as of this articles writing, the 3 states where home brewing is illegal are Oklahoma, Alabama and Mississippi. Even in states where it is legal, you should be safe instead of being sorry later, by contacting your local authorities first and ask them if you can make homemade beer where you live.

Making homemade beer or home brewing as it's often called is not as hard as most people think, in fact there are thousands of people across the USA that make their own beer on a regular basis. Some folks home brew just for the fun of doing it, others brew because they can make beer cheaper then buying it, and still others brew their own beer because they can alter the amounts of some ingredients and add different ingredients to give the beer a different taste and color.

I am not going to go into the instructions of home brewing or the details of the items and ingredients you will need to home brew your own beer, because the simplest and safest way to get into this fascinating activity is to simply purchase a home brewing kit. The home brewing kits cost anywhere's from $29 to $499 on average, and the kits include almost everything you need to make your own batch of beer with. The only thing some of the cheaper kits do not come with are the bottles, which you can purchase at most stores which sell the kits. This winter on them cold, snowy days when you have nothing to do, start brewing your own beer and have a blast doing it, it's not only exciting, it's also a great way to shake the winter blues.

There is a website that describes numerous activities and other methods to help eliminate the Winter Blues, this website is called: Winter Activities - and it may be found at this url: http://www.winter-activities.com
