In the state of Hyderabad, the state capital of Andhra Pradesh, the real estate giant from Dubai, along with its local partner MGF, found itself embroiled in a controversy regarding undervaluation of the land by a government agency. The allegation was that the government agency undervalued the land in order to give the real estate company undue monetary benefits, an allegation thoroughly refuted by Emaar MGF, CBI though is continuing its investigation into the matter. Those, probably even falsely, alleged to be the Emaar scam accused, are mostly government official and no cases have been filed against any of the official of the Emaar MGF, CBI has reportedly stated. The controversy received a lot of media attention due to the hype created by people to implicate Emaar into the alleged scam to undermine the government initiatives of opening the Indian real estate sector to foreign players. As foreign direct investment in the Indian market was only recently allowed, a lot of people with vested interests needed to create a controversy to degrade the name of foreign players to prove government policies wrong.
However, Emaar has seen a lot of politically motivated agendas in the past and it was not to be perturbed by such allegations and it has been reported that Emaar MGF, CBI continue to collaborate to bring Emaar Scam accused to justice. Known for its transparency and professionalism, Emaar MGF has not taken the allegation lying down and has gone public to defend its name and has promised unconditional support to investigation agencies to bring the right culprits to justice. Emaar MGF, since then, has continued on its path to become of the most respected Indian real estate companies, something which was expected from the real estate giant which has carved a name for itself in every single country it has set base in. The rise of Emaar started in Dubai, UAE and the marvels created by Emaar are known world over for their superior architecture, cost effectiveness and timely completion. It is not just Dubai where Emaar is respected for its remarkable achievements and feats, Emaar has been constantly gaining ground in almost the entire Middle east and countries like Morocco, Turkey, Egypt and Pakistan are testimony to the success of Emaar in the entire continent of Asia.
In the Indian market, Emaar MGF was set up soon after the Indian government deregulated the real estate sector and allowed entry of foreign players in the market in the form of joint ventures with local players. The idea was to bring in direct foreign investments in the economy while assisting the struggling real estate market. It was no surprise that Emaar MGF bagged the coveted project of constructing commonwealth games village in the Indian capital which was to host the participating athletes of the Commonwealth Games which were scheduled for 2010. The Games Village is one of Delhi�s prime real estate and is well sought after by the who�s who of the Indian rich. There seems to be no turning back for this real estate giant and it hopes that Emaar scam accused will be brought to justice soon so that it remove its name, for all time, from such allegations and controversy and focus on what it does best, contruction.
