In a household, the kitchen is perhaps the most important unit. It is the domain of the giver, the sustainer and the provider of the house, the mother, the wife. And it does precisely those things, it gives sustains and provides. She loves doing it. And the only thing she expects in return is love, but sometimes, love is best expressed by a few small things. Here are few things that would absolutely make it the best time of her life for any housewife.
1) Take Up Some Of Her Kitchen Chores
She does all the work in the kitchen, you may not be a great cook, but you can help with the other stuff. Do the dishes or chop the vegetables, using the food processor is not too difficult either. Cook with her and spend time showing that you care. She might even resist you or lightly admonish you for getting into her way in the kitchen, but in her heart she would love every moment of your presence.
2) Involve The Kids
The only things she loves more than cooking and maybe even you are, her children. Nothing is as relaxing for her as seeing her kids having fun and enjoying themselves. If the kids drop into help with the chores it will not only lighten the atmosphere but also give her more zeal and encouragement. If your kids are small make sure that you are there to prevent anything from happening that could jeopardize their safety. The kitchen can be a dangerous place. If they are teenagers or big enough to handle their own, they can help their mother with the job. Most of the idle conversation which goes on such occasions is going to become a cherished memory for both the kids and their mother.
3)Take Over
Every once in a while get her out of the kitchen. Either do the cooking yourself, or eat out or order some food. Though she enjoys her cooking, there are days when she just wants to put her feet up and relax. Make sure you do not miss out on these; it will mean a lot to her. It not only shows that you care for her, but also makes for a pleasant change and a chance for her to have some fun of her own. If you are cooking something yourself, make sure that you do not mess it up too much, and make the event even more special. Light candles on the dinner table and bring out the fancy cutlery (clean up afterwards too). It will let her have fun and enjoy being pampered. It need not be a special occasion at all. Surprise her and make it one.
The mothers of our households deserve as much respect and love as we can muster. Those little words of appreciation for everything she does and praise for every dish she makes can mean a great deal. When she recognizes and realizes that the love she has for her family is equally reciprocated, her life will become much happier. She would deserve it thoroughly.
