Hiring housecleaning services is now a common practice. This is especially true in homes where both spouses are working. Hiring maids to clean your house makes life so much easier because then you don�t have to worry about the dirty dishes and the dirty laundry when you get home after a long day at work. You get to have more quality time with your children and family. This type of service also lifts up your spirits after a long day as you come back to a clean and spotless home.
Although hiring housecleaning services is generally beneficial, there may be a few disadvantages associated with it too. Here are some advantages and disadvantages of hiring a housecleaning service.
Advantages
� Professional maids are trained and experienced. This ensures that all the duties are performed professionally and perhaps even a little different than what you could do yourself. Most housecleaning services provide only trained maids and other staff members, so you have nothing to worry about.
� Professional agencies usually have a list of services to choose from. You can choose the services you want based on your needs, budget and preferences.
� Cleaning agencies also often bring their own cleaning supplies and equipment to clean your home. Thus you don�t have to go through the hassle of buying cleaning supplies, so you also end up saving time and money.
� Hiring cleaners from professional agencies ensures that you never have to fend for yourself, even if your own personal helper falls ill or is unable to reach you for any other reason. The agencies always provide you back up staff members so you have a clean house when you need it.
� A house well-cleaned gives you a sense of confidence and makes a style statement to all your friends and family.
� Most professional housecleaning services are usually bonded and insured, so if something in your home is missing or damaged you can hold them accountable.
Disadvantages
� Hiring a professional cleaning company usually costs a lot of money and is an added expense every month.
� Your cleaning revolves around your maid. I.E. you have to depend on her (or him) for anything basically cleaning-related that you need to know about in your own house. You end up feeling like you don�t know anything about your own home anymore.
� There is no privacy for your family anymore when cleaning people are around. You have to consciously keep a check on your actions and words when he or she is present.
� You may have safety and security concerns with regard to having a stranger enter your home. Although the agencies vouch for the integrity of their maids, there have been cases of maids stealing from the clients.
� It may take a while for you and your kids to get used to having a maid around to do all the work. It may sometimes lead to forgetting to leave a key and locking the cleaning staff out, for instance, accidentally.
