These days with the advancement of modern technology accepting the yellow staining on the teeth does not have to be the case as there are plenty of treatments and products to remove the menace of yellowing coloration of the teeth.
We all see on TV adverts the toothpaste companies selling us the dreamy white smile and i am sure that quality toothpastes are not going to make the colour of your teeth any worse but really toothpastes are designed to remove plague and food and drink stuff on the surface of the teeth but these adverts do get our brains working to recognise that beautiful white teeth do make us look and feel good.
Having good dental hygiene is required so regular meeting with the dentist plus regular brushing and flossing will ensure the teeth are healthy but deep staining that is built up in the enamel from drinking copious amounts of coffee or tea as two examples are going to need a tooth whitening product or service to shift these type of staining.
When teeth whitening is used the pores of the enamel (which hold the staining components in the micro ducts) will open and the staining is then released. Sometimes for older people there is a good chance a few attempts of teeth whitening will be required to get through to the deeper stains.
Laser teeth whitening is a good system that uses the strongest possible whitening gel and combined with the heat radiated from the laser lamp will whiten the teeth in a fast time.
This is because the lips, gums and the soft tissues of the mouth are protected the highest strength whitening gels can be used which are painted on the surface of the teeth (typically only the front teeth which can be safely accessed) and then the light is switched on. This light activates the gel which opens the pores of the enamel much quicker than if you placed the gel on the teeth without using a lamp. In turn this system is more efficient than other systems.
The laser method will also get deep in to the stained areas of the tooth which means the likelihood of success is higher with the laser system than tray based systems as an example.
Because the laser system is undertaken by a professional all you will do is sit on the chair and hold the cheek retractors closed and the rest will be done for you. Again this increases the success rate as it takes only an hour or so to see a marvellous difference to the colour.
Whatever approach you take to whitening having more healthy looking teeth can only be a good thing as we tend to see people with brighter coloured teeth as more successful and attractive as well so for a little investment it can well worth doing.
Some individuals who have really heavily stained teeth will need to seek professional advice before going in to teeth whitening but most people a choice of laser, home kits or the bleaching trays will whiten the teeth effectively.
