A recent conducted poll revealed that 73% of all men prefer women that wear make up anytime, anywhere, 21% admit to liking them but only for occasions and events, while only 6% of all men prefer women with a natural look. These revealing figures make us wonder if wearing a natural look is really what we want, or what men want.

With the arrival of the new century and the rising of the "New Age" interdisciplinary teachings, we were told that a natural look, a natural way of life and a natural-just-everything were the new pathways to follow. Over a decade later, we are now seeing that when it comes to beauty, men have kept their old-time thoughts on what a beautiful woman is; a female individual wearing a mask, the longer the best.

However, there is too much of myth and too little of facts regarding making up. Makeup was invented to accentuate our beauty and hide or correct imperfection, and not to follow guidelines of men that say they prefer women wearing a smoky eyes look. While eye liner has been worn for at least four thousand years with ancient Egyptian women being models of beauty, not every woman looks great with smoky eyes and this is fact, but has nothing to do with making up or not making up.

Finding the right make up for you is the way to go. As women, we sometimes want to lure our loved one with a dramatic "femme fatale" make up, or follow their males advice about what they like to see in our face, rather than what we want to wear, or what suits our face, Fortunately there is a wide array of cosmetics, lipsticks (see http://lipsticklois.com for a huge variety), eye shadows, eyebrow pencils, blushes, foundation bases, powders and more, so you can give making up a go.

The natural look is another myth, because many women understand as "natural" the fact of wearing no makeup at all just washing our face several times a day when it should not be that way. Women have to keep their feminity, which is the distinctive seal that put us apart of men, so when it comes to wearing a natural look, think of using light makeup, rather that water and soap. Actually there is a large variety of natural tones for nail enamel, lipsticks, and blushes that complement with eye shadows in soft terracotta color to give your face a natural look despite you are wearing makeup.

In makeup matters, you have only two expert advisers to tell you how to look great; a professional beautician and your mirror, and this last one is the one that you have to please. If your partner ask you to wear a smoky eyes look, try making up yourself this way. Your partner may say you look so beautiful this way, but listen to your mirror to decide if what you are seeing seduces you and make you look and feel like a rocking superstar. If the experiment fails, you can always surprise your loved with the makeup look that you really want to wear.
