If you are a web developer or doing any other business online, you need to have a solid and robust web hosting service provider. The main reason you need a reliable web hosting provider is that you can then concentrate on your main work without worrying about the hosting issues. If you have to waste your time to deal with web hosting company due to downtimes and server failure then you won't be able to concentrate on your real business.

So you need a web hosting provide which actually takes worry out of your head and give you a full time to do your work and still offer a very good hosting service.

HostGator is a company which was founded in 2002. Currently hostgator has 12,000 servers under their management. HostGator has a huge customer base of around 400,000 clients.

Now do you think any company which provides not so good company can grow with such a large amount? I am sure you will be agreeing just by watching the total number clients that HostGator is a good hosting service provider.

How is Service

The company has different plans from shared web hosting to VPS web hosting and from dedicated web hosting to reseller webhosting. HostGator services starts from as low as $3.49 per month to $349 per month.

To review the webhosting company, I will check the performance in three different parts, Uptime, Support and Price.

Uptime

For any web hosting company, this is the first major thing. If your web site is getting lots of downtime then you might lose your business. So you need to make sure that any web hosting provider you select, should offer up to 99.9% uptime.

To measure the up time of the company, we checked it though third party service. We found that half of the months, HostGator offers 100% up time. That's really amazing compare to other web hosting providers. When hostgator doesn't offer 100% uptime, then also it offers at least 99.95% uptime. So for uptime, we will give 5 out of 5 stars to hostgator.

Support

Support is also another major thing you need to look at. If you are not getting proper support from hosting company then you might get more downtime or it can affect your productivity.

HostGator offers support through many different channel. It has tall free phone support. Then HostGator also offers email and live chat support. I like the live chat thing. If you want to do something with your account then you can directly chat with Hostgator support executive and your problem will be solved immediately. Sometimes you might have to wait for few minutes in live chat but that's worth compare to email support.

Price

Now since HostGator offers such a solid service, you might think that HostGator hosting should be costlier than other hosting service providers. That is not the case. As I said you can get a shared hosting account with as low as $3.94 per month.

Also if you use any coupon code then you will get a discount of 30%. So price should not be a major factor while selecting a HostGator.

HostGator also offers domains registration service but I won't suggest you to register a domain through HostGator because domain registration charges are higher at HostGator then other registrars. HostGator is good only for hosting and not for domain registration.
