*********************** ARTICLE START ***********************
I was planning for a weekend holiday. Where should we go this is what I asked to my family. And the answer was "A place where children can have fun and adults can relax in peace". And thus Nainital was selected by my family.

Now the next question was where to stay in Nainital. After a long search and reading reviews in the internet I finalized my stay at a resort in Nainital which is not in the crowded mall road. It is instead 26 km from Main city on Kathgodam road. The resort name was Dolmaar which is the only resort in Nainital with swimming pool. Dolmaar resort is a beautiful location in between green hilly forest.

Next step was to decide "how to reach Nainital from Delhi". Whether to drive my own car or to hire a cab. After a bit thinking we zeroed for a hired cab so that we I see the beauty of hills instead of concentrating on roads. Our taxi started from Delhi at 6 AM in the morning and we reached Nainital at 3 PM. En route had lunch at famous dhaba called "Bhajan" at Gajraula.

Since Dolmaar Resort is before Nainital we checked in at this excellently located resort near Nainital. The resort has beautiful gardens and lawns. After settling down we were taken to their riverside camp where we did river crossing and archery. My kid loved the place and enjoyed a lot. Evening we all celebrated our holiday with Bonfire and barbeque.

Next morning after breakfast we started for Nainital city. Taxi took around 40 minutes to reach at Mall road. As we entered Nainital the view of the lake was mesmerizing. The lake of Nainital is beautiful and picturesque. The colorful boats were adding to the beauty of the lake. First thing my kids insisted to do was boating. We parked our taxi in the parking located at a ground called "Flats" and went for boating in the lake for an hour. Sparking white ducks following the boat in hope of getting some pop corns was fun for kids. The Naini Lake has a very clear waster and is full of huge fishes. I was told by the boat man that Naini Lake was once full of debris and dirt and with government help was again restored to its original shine few years back.

After the exhilarating boat ride we went to the zoo. To my surprise Zoo in Nainital has Tigers and several leopards too. Also Zoo is full of several exotic birds and animals. When inquired I was told that most of the leopards in the Zoo are those who have been rescued after accidents or been caught after being declared man eaters.

For shoppers Nainital has a famous Tibetan Market where you can buy latest fashion cloths. I you are looking for authentic product if this region like designer Candles, pashmina Shawls and Dals etc than Bara bazaar is the right place.

Place that can be visited by taxi in Nainital are Tiffin Top, Zoo, Hanuman Gari, Killbury etc. For adventurers trekking to China Peak is a option. From China peak you get to see spectacular view of Naini lake and Himalayas. Though due to cloud I was unable to see the snow peaks. In the late evening we came back to Dolmaar Resort and tired with trekking slept immediately after having awesome food prepared by them.

Next day was visit to three other lakes of Nainital district - Bhimtal, Sattal and Naukuchital. Bhimtal is only 21 km from Dolmaar Resort in Nainital. Again all the three lakes are a beautiful treat for eyes. Did boating in Naukhuchital which has nine corners. The aquarium in the small island in Bhimtal is a unique place to see.

Next day was the day to get back to work in Delhi. As I departed from Dolmaar Resort and sat in my taxi, a feeling of sadness captured me as I wanted to live here for ever. And definitely if ever I get a chance to relocate myself from the maddening crowd of Delhi I will come to live here.
