The Harborside Resort Bahamas is on Paradise Island, and it is actually a collection of 392 private villas located outside the grounds of the Atlantis Resort just across the marina, so it is very close to one of the great playgrounds of the world..
It is not only the fact that it is outside the Atlantis Resort that is an advantage, particularly for those people who are overwhelmed by the sheer scale of Atlantis, but who would like access to all of the amazing facilities. This isnt a problem, because guests at the Harborside Resort at Atlantis have full access to all of the Atlantis Hotel amenities and facilities. In addition guests at the Harborside Resort at Atlantis have their own facilities, such as a pool, a fitness facility, and an all day shuttle service to Atlantis. By the way the shuttle service is not only fast but really good too, and a little bit of advice re the shuttle, is to take the shuttle to the Cove and walk through to the beach from there, as it is a much quicker way than going through Royal Towers. In fact there are free shuttles to and from the various towers at Atlantis and they are a real boon, and well worth using because it is important you try all the pools and slides at Atlantis.
Some good advice is to take with you sealable plastic drinks containers, which you can carry about in Atlantis. You can take in drinks you have bought in the liquopr store at a far lower cost than in the Resort where Tax is added to the price, in the plastic container. If you bet in the Casino then drinks are supplied free, and you can do the same with them
One of the nicest features of the Harborside Resort at Atlantis is the fact you come back to it every night and leave the hustle and bustle of Atlantis behind you. The Harborside is a gated community with its own shop, so with the kitchens in every villa, you can save a lot of money by cooking for yourself instead of eating out. You can take a grocery shopping trip every day at 10am, when a van will take you to a good grocery store, and there is a liquor store too, and it only costs $7 each.
One of the main advantages of staying at the Harborside Resort at Atlantis is that there are no lines at the towel huts so you can pick up your towels and bands without queuing as you would do in Atlantis itself. Similarly the restaurant isnt crowded and the pool here is excellent, being right at the waters edge, very quiet, and very secluded. The Point Poolside Bar and Restaurant has good food, service and a great view down the harbour.
The staff at the Harborside Resort at Atlantis are kind, courteous, and mostly efficient.
You would do well to eat outside the Harborside Resort at Atlantis and Atlantis itself, for some variety, because it is cheaper, and as far as Atlantis resort is concerned so you dont have to queue. In fairness the Mesa Grill in the Atlantis resort is worth a visit. Amongst the recommended places to eat are The Poopdeck , Anthonys which is within walking distance and does breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Zio Gigis an Italian restaurant in the Hurricane Hole Plaza.
If your children insist on Atlantis, you insist on the Harborside Resort at Atlantis and youll have a great and slightly less expensive time than staying in Atlantis itself.
