The best way to fly domestically in South Africa? Why not book a flight with Mango Airlines and find out? Mango Airlines is a state-owned low-cost subsidiary airline of South African Airways founded in 2006. For those that do not know, South African Airways (or SAA) is the flag carrier and largest airline of South Africa and was founded in 1934. SAA is a star alliance member, which is the largest and most respected alliance in the world. In other words, SAA is one of the best and Mango, as a subsidiary of SAA, offers no less than the best.
People should not mistake the fact that Mango is a low cost airline with lack of safety and/or luxury, since they deliver in all departments. The airline has an immense 7.7 out of 10 score on the largest airline review website and its best qualities seem to be the on time schedule that is diligently followed as well as cleanliness and neatness. Mango Airlines offers a rich flying experience and ensures that you pay the less for the best. In South Africa, when purchasing any kind of product or anything for that matter, it is quite hard to find the best quality and pay the lowest price for it, so when you get the cange to do so, you should relish in it.
As a low cost airline, it features a uniform fleet with a high seating density. The airline has, in total, 7 aircraft in its fleet and the total consists of 6 Boeing 737-800 aircraft as well as 1 737-300 aircraft. The Boeing 737-800 can carry a total of 186 passengers per flight where as the 737-300 can carry a total of 142 passengers per flight.
There are no meals, snacks or drinks included in the ticket purchase, however Mango does offer a buy on board programme that offers food, snacks and drinks that you can purchase. For entertainment purposes, there is an in-flight magazine called Mango Juice as well as a daily in flight programme called Mango TV. The best part is that in flight Wi-Fi is available on all flights and this will surely entertain you, as you can browse the web on any device that is able to connect to a Wi-Fi service.
The airlines biggest opposition is Kulula.com, which is another South African low-cost airline and is wholly owned by British Airways. Kulula.com is known for its incorporated sense of humor and it was established in 2001. Kulula has a total of 10 aircraft in its fleet, which consists of 9 Boeing 737-800s and 1 Boeing 737-400.
Mango flights definitely offer a rich flying experience as there is in-flight Wi-Fi, which will ensure that you stay connected, the buy on board programme, which will ensure that you do not have to eat only the meal that is offered as with other airlines and that you do not arrive hungry at your next destination, and also the friendly flight crew that will assist you with anything you may need and will bend over backwards to ensure your flight is an enjoyable one.
