One of the newest self defense products to hit the market is the Mace Pepper Gun. This device uses Mace, one of the most popular brands of pepper spray, in a unique delivery system. Known as �bag-in-a-can� technology, this device allows you to shoot a stream of pepper spray from any angle. You can even hold the can upside down! Unlike regular spray cans, the pepper spray will come out in a straight stream no matter the angle of the can. This is particularly useful if you are struggling with your attacker, trying to aim the pepper spray at his face while he's trying to push it away.
Pepper Guns come in four colors, including black, silver, blue, and pink. Each gun comes with a 28 gram cartridge of pepper spray, enough to disable any attacker. This cartridge contains approximately 7 blasts of pepper spray. Replacement cartridges are available, so that you can use the same Mace Pepper Gun multiple times. It also includes a test cartridge filled with water so that you can try it out without worrying about accidentally spraying someone with the pepper spray. Replacement cartridges come in two-packs in several varieties: two pepper sprays, one pepper spray and one water spray, or two water sprays for practice purposes.
Mace Pepper Gun devices also contain a few other helpful features to make it easier to use the device against an attacker. As the constant stream of pepper spray comes out of the device, an LED light, which is activated by the trigger, helps you aim at your attacker's face. Plus, this light can temporarily blind or disorient the assailant, making it easier for you to get a clear shot. One of the problems of using regular pepper spray, accurate aim in the dark, has been rectified with the Mace Pepper Gun with the addition of this light.
Pepper Guns can spray an attacker standing up to 25 feet away. This is one of the longest ranges of any available pepper spray currently on the market. Many comparable devices shoot the spray eight to twelve feet away, meaning you must be standing much closer to the assailant in order for it to be effective. In fact, the Mace Pepper Gun is one of the only devices that can be effectively aimed from this far away with a decent chance of hitting the attacker squarely in the face. The added LED light is particularly helpful in this regard, especially when trying to aim the Pepper Gun in the dark.
Unlike most forms of pepper spray, a Mace Pepper Gun is shaped not like a spray canister, but like a gun with a trigger. This device has a particularly powerful appearance, which can give you confidence and make the assailant think twice about attacking you.
The Mace Pepper Gun has been developed with an understanding of real-world self defense situations. In the real world, you may be attacked in the dark, and you may be without a clear shot at your attacker.
