Greek Flokati rugs are a beautiful addition to almost any room, and recently they have become an extremely popular purchase for many. Unfortunately there are many shop owners who have preyed on those looking for authentic Flokati rugs by selling rugs that are inferior to the authentic models so many individuals are looking for these days. These rugs are fake through and through, but it can be very difficult to tell the difference between a fake Flokati rug and an authentic selection. If you’re searching for an actual Flokati rug, here are a few tips that may help you.
Tip #1: Look at the Seller
The seller is the first person you should look to when you wish to purchase a Greek Flokati rug. Make sure that the shop or the individual seller has a positive reputation by doing a quick online investigation. If you type in the name of the company in a search engine, you will probably be rewarded with plenty of information about the company and their wares. This information should help you to distinguish whether you have found a trustworthy company or one that may not be a good choice. You can even check at places such as the Office of Fair Trading or another nation’s equivalent, as they will have a list of companies that have been caught selling inferior products.
Tip #2: Read Closely
If you read closely you may find that the rug you’re looking at is not an authentic Greek Flokati rug. Many companies, especially those who sell through magazines and online, will make say things such as “Flokati rug” in the title, but once you do a bit of reading in the description, or the fine lines, you will find that the company says that it is just like a Flokati rug, not that it is a genuine one. If you’re completely stumped and are unable to find a Flokati rug, ask someone that you know who has one where they got theirs.
