Ever wondered what type of underwear those around you choose or indeed what the rest of the nation are interested in? Well, the UKs number one lingerie website has put together the definitive map of lingerie preferences from around the country.
The type of underwear you wear can say a lot about your personality. Whether you prefer a black, lacy number, a daring red set or stick to the your old, favourite thongs, are the people around you doing the same as you? And if so, what does it mean? How do things differ across the country? Read on if you've ever had these thoughts...
So if you've ever wondered what fills the lingerie drawers of Essex girls or, which knickers are a Derbyshire lady's top choice we lift the lid on the secret underwear preferences of the nation, with some unexpected results!
Lancashire women top the charts for suspenders and Northern belles from Merseyside, Tyne and Wear and North Yorkshire are also flocking to lotions and potions section on the site to stock up on massage oils, and lotions.
It seems Essex girls are purchasing more underwear than any other county; they appear in the top three for sexy thongs, red lingerie and open thongs, making them some of the most daring women in UK!
Counties which are considered more rural appear to be conforming to stereotypes to a certain extent with women in Hertfordshire, Oxfordshire and Somerset choosing quality classic silk lingerie as their underwear of choice.
In contrast Berkshire, Dorset and East Sussex women are heading to the everyday basics section of the site, searching for comfort and practicality over designer shapes and fabrics.
Magic pants and shapewear are probably a secret staple of most lingerie drawers now, but those in North Yorkshire, Staffordshire and West Lothian are buying the most from the lingerie specialists.
The new Be Naughty section also reveals some saucy snippets into the lives of British women from north, south, east and west of the country, pearl thongs are doing a roaring trade , perhaps surprisingly selling most to women in Wiltshire, Cumbria and Oxfordshire. Women in Wiltshire are also purchasing the most sex toys, sexy Swindon seems to be hotspot of the nation, closely followed by Sheffield and Teesside.
The lady responsible for compiling the study from extensive delivery statistics comments ' we were interested to see whether our stats lived up to stereotypes, and were surprised by some of the results! During the economic downturn and as nights draw in it seems the temperature is hotting up in bedrooms all over the UK, although our Survey has revealed some interesting hotspots!'
How do the findings fit with where you live and would you agree with the results? Are you a classy, silk-owning lady of Oxfordshire, a cheeky lady from Swindon or a thong wearing Essex girl? One thing's for sure, with such a wide range of underwear and lingerie out there, there are so many excuses to dress up and flaunt your personality no matter where in the country you are!
