As someone who does work full time from home I have sometimes frequented various forums that are designed for people in my position. Over the years I have found there are various advantages to using these forums from time to time, and if you are thinking of working from home you may well benefit from them too.

One key benefit is that they make it easier to spot scams before you risk becoming a victim of them. Some forums have a section dedicated to this, while others simply have ongoing conversations in another section about them. Typically members will ask other people on the forum if they have come across a particular opportunity, and ask for opinions on whether it is a scam or not. Sometimes you will get a definitive answer based on the experiences of one or more people. Other times you will have a conversation about the pros and cons of a particular opportunity, which can still help you to decide whether this is a good thing for you or not.

Another good benefit of joining one or two online home working forums is that you will be able to interact with other people who might be doing the same job as you. If you are working from home full time you will probably start to miss the connections you had with workmates in your former employed position. You still wont meet people face to face when you are online of course, but interacting with them in a forum is definitely a good thing because it means you still have contacts.

You may also find you make a few worthwhile connections that could help your business as well. It all depends on the kind of work you do and what you are looking for of course, but the opportunity is always there. You just never know what benefits you will get from such a forum.

There is usually an introduction area on each forum which is the best place to head when you first join. This is usually monitored by the forum moderators among other people, so you will be sure of a reply pretty soon after you make your first post. It is the best place to make your introduction and to tell people a little bit about yourself. For instance you could say to people you want to work from home, or tell them what you already do, depending on what situation you are in.

Another worthwhile area includes information on the practicalities of working from home. We all encounter these, no matter what we might actually be doing to earn money. For instance we might be worried about tax and National Insurance, or perhaps we might be wondering how to declare our business and our earnings so we are following all the rules. Forums will always contain people who have been through the stage you are at now, which is one of the main benefits of using them.

As you can see there are more reasons for joining a home working forum than there are for not joining them.
