Grand Canyon bus tours are a great way to bring the family together while visiting Las Vegas over the Christmas holiday.

The great thing about starting from Las Vegas is that you have choices. Lots of them, and that includes going to the West Rim or the South Rim (you can't visit both on one trip.).

Let's keep talking about the rims.

The West Rim is closest to Las Vegas. It's 120 miles to the east and requires riding the bus for 2.5 hours.

The South Rim, which is 270 miles away, translates into a 5.5-hour bus tour.

In addition to distance, the other thing that separates the Rims are the types of things you can do upon arrival. The West Rim, for instance, offers more thrills and attractions while the South Rim is more famous for it's natural scenic beauty.

More specifically, it's at the West Rim where you can take a helicopter ride to the bottom and a boat ride down the Colorado River. Or, you can do the Grand Canyon Skywalk, the world's largest all-glass cantilevered bridge. There are also free shuttles that will get you to the area's best viewing areas.

The South Rim's prime attraction is its lookouts. They are numerous and all are incredible. In most cases, bus tours go inside the National Park and take you to two to three of these lookouts. The other thing you can do is add a South Rim helicopter ride into the mix, which is something I strongly urge you to consider.

Unlike air tours (e. G. Helicopter and airplane rides), bus tours offer the travel plenty of availability. But don't let that lull you into a sense of complacency. Always book your bus tour ahead of time (I recommend at least three days prior). One caveat: canyon bus tours will not be in operation on Christmas Day 12/25 so bear that in mind as you book your trip.

One thing that travelers really like about these coach trips is that they are all-inclusive. That means there are no hidden charges for fuel, park fees and more. Thus what you pay at check out is final. Nothing more, nothing less. Trips also include a guide, lunch and drinks. Tally it all up and it's a great deal.

Do expect to spend an entire day on these adventures. If you go West Rim, you'll be back on the Vegas Strip after 8 p. M. And if you go to the South Rim expect to return after 9 p. M. Indeed, it does seem like a lot of time on the road but the buses used on these routes are superior in terms of comfort and safety. Lastly, avoid making plans for evening before 10 p. M.

Conclusion

I hope this article was insightful in terms of assisting you as you plan a Grand Canyon bus tour this Christmas holiday week. Remember, the first step starts with deciding to visit the West Rim or the South Rim. From there, consider your side-trip options. Then get ready for one of the greatest road trips you'll ever experience.
