The modern world is in a constant state of change and innovation. Our lives and macrocosm demand that we keep up with it, or be left behind.

Contrary to general belief, "leadership" skills are not just confined to people in positions of power. No matter where you are in life right now, having leadership skills can be very useful in the various adventures that you encounter. The benefits are priceless in assisting one deal with arduous situations.

Exemplary leaders are favored by others mainly because people trust and respect them, rather than the skills they possess. Leadership is about behavior first, skills second.

The demand for leaders is always greater than the supply, because so many tend to think it is easier to be led than lead.

We all have a few innate attributes of an effective leader! So why not make use of them?

Effectual leaders:

* Are creative. They are adept at finding venturesome techniques to motivate themselves and others.

* Have confidence; in them self and in their abilities.

* Make a difference in the lives of others.

* Are a good listener, and a good communicator.

* Have a positive attitude.

* Are passionate and enthusiastic.

* Set a good example and does what is called for, regardless of the circumstances.

* Identifies the gifts, strengths and limitations of those he or she associates with; then entrusts, prepares, encourages and gets out of the way.

* Handle issues with integrity (which is way others trust them).

* Seek out and listen to others, but make up his or her own mind.

* Desire to leave the world better than where they found it.

* Learn from the past, but focus on the future.

* Expect the best from others, as from him or herself.

* Osmose from role models, but knows who he or she is.

* Know the power of yes and no, and when to say so.

* Are not deterred by detractors or naysayers.

* Admit errors, accept failures, learn from them and move on.

* Strive to be honest and fair.

* Say what is necessary, not what is desired.

* Are congruent. This is having musings, communication and execution all line up. It means our actions (what we do) are consistent with what we say.

* Are enthusiastic and optimistic.

* Motivate others by trusting and believing in them.

* Are authentic and in touch with their values and live according to them.

* Share those attributes with others. The bottom line here is there are no mixed messages being sent out.As a guiding spirit we are constantly developing skills that allow us to maximize our potential and create the positive change we wish to see in our lives and in those around us.

Feel the Fear.......And Do It Anyway! Emancipated individuals are faint hearted at times, but they don't let the fear paralyze them.

You my friend are far more powerful and equipped than you may apprehend. And the unique imprint you graciously provide is far greater than you've realized or experienced up to now. You are capable of positively and significantly impacting the lives of many, and this will ripple into the future for generations to come. Go for it!
