Joovia Extreme Sports takes gaming on iPhone to a completely different level. It doesn�t restrict itself to be serious all the time, yet the game mechanics still feel high quality. By including humor in the gameplay, it truly sets itself apart from other games on the market.
The game�s humor is its most noticeable attention grabber. The game�s home page displays a message from Joovia, the voluptuous redhead that stars as the game�s main character. In it, not only does she explain the game but she gets gamers laughing � and drooling! The overall tone of the game is a throwback to the dry and clever humor that just doesn�t seem to be in the mainstream media anymore. Instead of being overtly sexy or appealing to the serious gamer, Joovia Extreme Sports ties it all together.
Joovia herself is an extremely entertaining character to play with throughout the game. The reactions you get from her range from funny and flirtatious to sassy and snarky. It gives the main character some depth and it will make players keep going through the 30 levels, just to see what she says next. The Moments With Joovia are also an entertaining addition to the gameplay; it seems that it is impossible to get bored with this game with such funny writing put behind it.
With 30 different levels at three different difficulties (easy, normal or pro) gives gamers practically 90 different ways to play the game. It�s impossible to go through all of the levels quickly; the amount of hours of gameplay is impressive for an iPhone game. A person could play this game for a long time while they are idle, but it won�t wear them out. It�s not frustrating like a game of Sudoku or crossword would be, but it isn�t as mind numbingly dull as tic-tac-toe.
The basic gameplay consists of the player protecting Joovia from objects falling in the sky. By using your fingers, you can swipe and umbrella back and forth in order to deflect the items. In a weird way, the basic concept is reminiscent of Space Invaders. It is just as addictive and challenging; when the player ramps up the difficulty of the game it truly gets difficult to keep up with Joovia and her wacky ball machines.
By far the best thing about Joovia Extreme Sports is the theme and feel of the game; it is obvious that the humor of the main character is well thought out. It is refreshing to find a game with humor that doesn�t seem cheesy or cheap. Joovia Extreme Sports has a lot of clever lines that truly makes it unique. In addition to the game you can go to the Joovia main site to see more comic strips of the main character. With the extra content that is accessible, it is easy for a gamer to get a feel for what Joovia is like.
So if a gamer is looking for a little something extra in an iPhone game, like a cute redhead that is funny and entertaining, then he or she should purchase Joovia Extreme Sports. It�s more fun than your typical action-sports game.
