There is a lot of golf instruction online for the golf beginner to read and learn. This set of golf instruction online range from pre-game routine, playing walkthrough, and end of game tactics. It would actually be helpful for a beginner to read some of these and discover some of the well-kept secrets of professional golf players. As such, here is a compiled list of most basic golf instruction online.

1. Consider being fitted for golf clubs.

In the world of golf, it is not only the clothes that are checked for measurement. People could also be fitted for the perfect golf clubs for them. As golf clubs could be the single most expensive equipment that a player would end up buying for golf, it would not come as a surprise that a lot of the golf instruction online recommend that the person should ensure that the club would perfectly match the person to get his money’s worth. Excusive golf stores offer such treatment. They check for the golf player’s height, weight, and stance and look for golf clubs that would give the most comfortable grip and deliver the most effective drive for the person.

2. Eyes on the ball, shoulders down, relax.

When hitting the ball, it would be best for the person to look at it and not at his drive or his club. Keeping the eyes on the ball helps the person to visualize hitting it; this imagination involuntarily forces the body to adjust the stance and even the distance, resulting to a higher rate of hit accuracy for the person. In addition, when doing a drive, it would help when the person relaxes his body. Being tense would only result to jerking movements, lessening the control the person has on his drive.

3. Swing with the upper body not with the arms only.

Swinging the club with the strength from the arms would not only hinder movement, it would also produce an extremely awkward swing movement, and an un-optimized flight distance for the hit ball. There is also a greater tendency to miss the ball. For a smooth drive, a person should slightly twist his upper body from the torso and drive the club from the shoulders, keeping the arms straight upon swinging. This helps give a powerful and smooth swing with less effort and strength needed. It would also help the person keep his balance while swinging.

4. Use the proper club with the right number.

Though it may be easier to use just one club for the entire game, it would not help the person in utilizing the techniques provided through the clubs. The best players are able to utilize their clubs well. To start, a player should know that each club is numbered and that each number corresponds to how far it can make the ball fly at the given type of club. The larger the number, the shorter is the resulting flight distance.

There are more set of golf instruction online out there. However, the best instruction is still to go out there and try playing the golf. One could learn as he progresses through the game.
