As teeth whitening becomes more popular new systems and methods are developed and one of the big success stories is the laser whitening system which is used by more and more people to enhance their smile.
Teeth whitening has been around for some years but the advancement of technology and research has helped increase the benefits and reduce the speed it takes the whiten the teeth. Everybody wants it now attitude has benefited the laser system as it only takes one hour to undertake the treatment and the results are viewable straight away.
Having a wonderful bright smile is the end result people desire and once the staining has been removed generally this is what people get. Of course the results will differ from person to person but in most cases the outcome is a very positive one.
Smile sends out an endorphin in the brain which makes us feel good and after teeth whitening it is the case that many of us will increase our self confidence to a renewed level that makes us smile more and often and without the worry of showing off discolored teeth.
Laser is a treatment that involves a light machine with lots of led bulbs. The idea of the light or lamp is to place heat in to the whitening gel used and this in turn opens the pores of the enamel more efficiently and then releases the staining. Now if you used the same gel without the light then the teeth would whiten but could take several hours instead of just 30-60 minutes with the laser light method.
These series of leds�s are not harmful as they only place heat in the area of the mouth and do not actually overheat the area and the eyes are also protected during the treatment.
Sometimes when we think about the use of laser in medical or cosmetic treatments we think of an intense beam of light which penetrates a small area, similar to what is used for laser eye correction surgery but this is not what is typically used for teeth whitening as all the front teeth need consistent even heat which in turn whitens the teeth to a balanced outcome.
Once whitened the teeth can be little sensitive for a few days after the whitening treatment so avoiding very hot and cold drinks is a good idea and also avoid brushing the teeth straight afterwards and this can aggravate the nerve endings in the teeth which causes sensitivity.
Whitening the teeth is a simple, fast and effective way of giving yourself an effective makeover without spending a fortune like many other cosmetic treatments and depending on the result will work somewhere between 4 and 10 shades which is a noticeable difference and this can make you look younger and feel better about yourself.
Always see your dentist for regular dental checks and ensure you brush and floss regularly. A good impartial dentist will give you their opinion what is best for you but consider the fact that dentists are commercial and therefore might swing you towards their own system which is typically the bleaching trays!
