Some offices have break rooms that don't seem too inviting, and this can stress out those working in your office more than they already are in the first place. Here are some tips to get your workers to actually take that needed break in the break room.

The first thing that is important is to have a little bit of dcor. Some plants or subtle design elements may really help workers feel more relaxed, and gives them something else to look at that isn't paperwork or a computer screen. Get dcor from an office supply dealer for office-appropriate pieces.

The next thing to do is make sure the break room feels comfortable. Consider looking at office furniture dealer and consider buying a few comfy chairs for employees to lounge in at break time. Remember, the goal is that if the employee has a good break, he or she will get back to work at their full potential. You don't need to overdo the break room, but just enough is well enough.

Another good idea is to buy some snacks for the break room. There's no need to serve up a luxury meal or anything, but having some packs of snack crackers or cookies may not only brighten your workers up, but may also make them like you just a little bit more. You can buy bulk snack items from an office supply dealer such as OfficeSalesUSA. Also make sure coffee items are well in stock. Office workers love their coffee, and having creamer, stir sticks, and sugar are sure to bring people into the break room at some point during the day. Small gestures like this show your workers that the break room is a place to take a short rest, and small gestures like this definitely boost morale.

The next tip is to make sure you have appropriate appliances that cater to your employees. Obviously, a coffee machine will be a big hit, as well as a microwave and a fridge. Other things you may want to consider are a toaster oven, and a toaster. These simple appliances can make the break room seem more homely and restful. Ultimately your break room should feel like a nice living room and half-kitchen combined. Make sure all your appliances are easily accessible too.

The last tip is to keep your break room clean. No one is going to want to take a relaxed break in a room that is messy or dirty. You can hire a cleaning crew, or do it yourself. If you use OfficeSalesUSA as your office supply dealer, you can buy any cleaning supplies you might need to clean around the office or in the break room. Keeping a clean break room may also encourage your employees to keep the office and break room clean which can be a definite plus.

Hopefully these tips and suggestions will help bring out the best in your employees! If you are unsure of what your employees want in their break room, you can always ask!
