Sometimes, the best way to resist an attack is to fool the attacker into thinking that you are complacent until you are able to effectively stop them in their tracks. Fake self defense gadgets conceal their true purpose, returning the element of surprise to the victim so that you can keep yourself and your belongings safe from harm. Here are five of the most effective disguised self defense gadgets:
Cell phone stun guns look surprisingly realistic. They even have a screen that looks just like the one your real cell phone might have. If you're talking to someone who seems to be acting suspiciously, take out your fake cell phone. Your potential attacker will not be threatened by its appearance, buying you time to surprise him with a jolt of 900,000 volts of electricity, easily taking him down. Cell phones are the most ubiquitous gadget there is today, and your attacker will never expect what's about to happen to him.
Another excellent disguised weapon is a pepper spray pen. These pens are so realistic that you can put them on your desk, in your pocket, or in your purse and they should fool almost everyone, even when seen up close. Are you in a threatening situation? Pull out your pepper spray pen to write down his number or any other trivial piece of information. Before your attacker knows it, you can direct the pepper spray stream right into his eyes. This small but effective weapon is used by thousands of people, from students to real estate agents, who feel comfortable carrying around a weapon that looks just like a regular pen.
There are other disguised pepper spray devices that are perfect for specific situations. A few examples include pepper pagers and walking weights concealing a pepper spray canister. Both are perfect for carrying with you into a variety of situations where they will fit in and fool your attacker. When you use one of these disguised devices rather than a plain canister of pepper spray, you reduce the chance that the attacker will be able to cover his face before you are able to use the spray.
Some of the most popular disguised self defense weapons are key chains. Though their real use is not immediately recognizable, and they look like harmless decorations attached to your car keys, in reality they may be personal alarms, mini pepper spray canisters, or even a mini baton. These efficient little weapons will always be with you, since they are attached to your keys, and won't draw a second glance.
While these devices work against physical attacks, other fake security devices work against those who are seeking to break into your home or steal your belongings. A diversion safe, shaped like a soda can or any other common everyday object, is a great way to hide valuables out in the open. Another excellent fake device is a dummy security camera. Cameras don't have to be real to make potential burglars believe that they are being watched. Position these cameras in the eaves of your house, and consider posting signage alerting would-be attackers that their moves are being recorded. They look just like the real thing, and cause would-be thieves to avoid your home.
