During the current credit crunch the amount of available income to spend on treats is less because the cost of living has increased and incomes have moved sideways so many of us have to be choose carefully on what we spend our money on.
Many women look to purchase two to three handbags per year and with a designer handbag at a similar cost the new Apple ipad then a tough choice is ahead. Get a new Gucci or Prada bag or get a high tech gadget from Apple!
These are just examples of decisions that many people have to make every day as money is tight and does not always stretch to allow us to buy everything we want and this is why consumers are becoming more savvy on how they or change their purchasing behaviour to purchase different brands.
A good example of this is designer handbags as the top brands offer the highest apparitional accessories to own but they come at a high cost and because fashion is so fast moving they do not last that long maybe up to two years if you opt for a more traditional style and definitely less if you opt for a more trendy or seasonal style bag.
The quality of the high priced designer bags are very good but really like any brand you are buying a name that resonates something within us that associates us with that brand but like I say at a premium cost.
Having a handbag from a lesser known brand name is becoming the choice for many women and there are some really good quality alternatives on the market.
Some this option does open the door to actually buying more variations so maybe a floral bag for summer, a formal bag for work and a clutch bag for when you go out in the evenings and with prices a fraction of the brands seen on the catwalks this can be a really good alternative.
This way a hand bag can be more disposable so when the fashion changes or even just you fancy buying a new bag then it is possible to achieve within your handbag budget!
Stunning styles many which resemble the look and features of the stylish designer handbags are found in boutiques and online stores as the smaller up and coming brands cash in on this huge growing market and even well known brands like Storm London, Guess and Diesel still offer good value as their brand have not reach the prestigious heights like the Prada, Dior, Chanel or Gucci to name a few of the illustrious household brands to select from.
Sometimes we need to look at our purchasing habits and then look at cutting our clothe accordingly if money becomes tight or priorities change and this is what has happening in the current credit crunch as smaller brands have benefited from changing consumer behaviour.
This is all good news as you can own a great looking handbag and still buy the latest technology gadget from Apple, that is called the best of both worlds!
