When all is said and done, this is just my opinion. In 2009, I got my first smart phone which was an Iphone. It was awesome. I basically had a phone that could do most everything. I could text, download and use apps, listen to music, watch a movie, check company e-mail etc.

There were no dull moments as I did not mind waiting anymore. I had something to do. I could play on my Iphone. I had an Iphone all the way up to November of 2014. My son came home one day raving about a Samsung S5. What was so great about a Samsung S5. When you are getting information from someone that wants one, everything is great. I ask about the music and downloads. His first response is the music is free, all you want. He goes on to share that you just have to download the music apps. How is the camera and photo quality. It was outstanding. I have never seen photos that quality from a phone.

How much are the ringtones? There is no charge for the ringtones. Your music app will create them from your downloaded music. How about security of the phone from malware and viruses? I had a few people tell me about bad experiences from viruses. However, they were corrected and there are apps available that protect the Android from security issues. That is a victory for Apple. I did not have any security issues over five years.

How is the battery life? For the Samsung S5, It lasts a good 24 hours on existing battery. It also has additional power settings to adjust to save battery life. If you are down to 20% and you turn on ultra save for power, it will last almost two days. With this setting, you only have access to phone, text, and the internet. With my Iphone, I had an additional battery case as it would run out of juice during the work day. With the extra battery case, I had no issues.

For Siri, I stopped using it. It never recognized my voice. It did recognize my son’s voice. If knowledge of phone technology was a class in school, he would get an A. The S5 recognized my voice right away. I use it every day especially for directions. I have heard that this was a big improvement on the Iphone 6. I have not seen it first hand yet.

So far, I am pretty happy with my Samsung S5. I also have to say that the choice was between the Samsung S5 and the Iphone 6. I had an Iphone 5 when I traded it in. To be fair to the Iphone ambassadors, I don’t know how much better an Iphone 6 is than an Iphone 5. I will be sticking with the Samsung S5 until the S6 should come out. It saves me money everyday. I don’t think that you should have to pay via Itunes to get more. If you are an Apple ambassador, I would suggest you see if you can test an Android smart phone. It is a personal choice. You have nothing to lose. You should get the best bang for your buck.
