New PLOTS Spectrometry list

Hi, all! I created a new list for spectrometry/spectral analysis discussions. I think it's fine to CC in the main list (this one) especially on a new topic but let's consider moving the longer threads onto "plots-spe...@googlegroups.com".

Mainly we want to avoid exhausting the attention span of Public Lab folks who are not that interested in spectrometry, and not have to feel worried about actually *having* really long spectrometry conversations. This is kind of like how "grassroo...@googlegroups.com" is mainly for balloon/kite mapping, and overlap with the main list is OK. I'll be a little annoying fwding things back and forth for the next week or so, and I'll also send specific invitations to folks who have been very spectro-active. 

It's also now a default-on option on the registration form: http://publiclaboratory.org/user/register (you have to be logged out to see)

Actually this is a good time to ask -- most PLOTS lists (local and topical) have a few moderators who help keep topics on the right lists, deal with spam and unsubscribe requests, and generally facilitate discussion. if anyone's interested in helpin in this way, please contact moder...@publiclaboratory.org!
