Berkeley Kite Fest

For folks in the Bay Area, the Berkeley Kite Fest is happening this coming weekend, July 28-29.  I built a kite this weekend (I'll post soon), but only got it up to 200 feet, so I may check out this festival to get ideas on how to tweak my design.

I think Michele and I might be heading down from Davis and would be
interested in chatting with other PLOTters.

Any idea if there's space to fly your own stuff, that didn't seem clear
at all on the website and I was wondering if we should contact the
organizers about doing a KAP demo.

What day/time range were you planning on getting out there?

I would also like to try to go, I prefer Saturday but I could go on Sunday as well. Its been a long time since last time I went but it's such a large area that I think you can fly your own kites.

I think I (and possibly matt) are going to go as well. We went last year and it was a lot of fun.

YES you can totally fly your own kites, though it is a bit of a challenge to not get tangled with other fliers because there are so many.

It sounds like Saturday morning works for most people.  Should we try for around 10:30?  For people that have been to this event before, can you suggest a place that would be good to meet (easy to find or see)?

I'm planning on still going to the kite festival tomorrow.  I'll be there at 10:30, so at that time, I'm guessing I'll be near the entrance (if there is one proper entrance? Not sure, never been). My number is 303.570.3746 if folks want to meet up. Happy Friday!

How about we meet in the Single line kite flying area (lower left),
approximately where the kite icon is that's nearest the shuttle drop off
and across the path from the valet bicycle parking?
