maharashtratimes.indiatimes.com is resolved to 203.106.85.131 instead
of 96.17.107.98.

ouch. google is going to get on the game for stuff like this. One
thing I like about OpenDNS is their "CacheCheck" page, opendns.com/
cache - allows you to see what OpenDNS sees the address as, and also
allows you to "force" a refresh.

BTW, Google DNS doesn't keep the cache longer than the TTL does it?
That could be bad.....even though I've seen some ridiculous short TTLs
(1ms.....? lol) for some domains.....

Indiatimes.com uses a content distribution network (CDN) aimed at
serving the website from data centers closest to the viewers.
Unfortunately using Google's DNS defeats the purpose of such CDNs. The
ip you habe noticed is closest to the Googles DNS not closest to your
provider's network.

Would OpenDNS have the same issue with CDN's?

All public resolvers will since the DNS protocol uses the resolver IP.

We are continuing to work with other companies and individuals on possible solutions.

Thanks!
