Will web content filtering ever be an option? It would be great to be
able to filter out a person's whole web experience via the router and
Google DNS.

Google Public DNS follows the DNS specifications to the letter and therefore will not block, filter, or redirect DNS responses.

Thanks,

I would like to ask this in a different form, instead of being a net
neutrality question I'm wondering if it will have the same convenience
as the OpenDNS service I cant really stop using now. The way i filter
my own content is by blacklisting and white-listing my own custom list
of things and categories of content. Since it is my own custom global
list, I feel safe without the hazards your DNS let through the same
minute get through being one of those "Get a $5000 cheque from Google"
scam page open.
So I have tried your DNS for a few minutes but I actually couldn't
stand the internet without my own custom restrictions I've put on what
I have to put up with.

So instead of having you as Google control these sort of
configurations, If users can have their own custom web with them
anywhere they go simply from a secure authentication verification, I
WOULD use Google DNS, and until I can make myself a blacklist of sites
which I absolutely know I never want to see, I will loyally stay with
OpenDNS to allow me to do just that.

So instead of the way you initially understood this question as, may I
ask for a consideration of per user DNS settings like pure OpenDNS
beauty??

P.S. Just buy OpenDNS already ;) then I don't need to not chose Google
for this :P

Hope to hear back soon!!

At this time we have no such plans.  I would also say that in my opinion, those decisions on blocking / filtering should be done on the client level, that way the client has the say on what is malware rather than a 3rd party.

Thanks.

It might not be done at the client but it is client configurable. I
will probably move back to openDNS because I WANT the ability to block
pornographic web sites and openDNS is much much more time and cost
effective for me compared to setting up a server at home.
