I'm not interested in "uploading" my data to google servers. Is there
a means to have data pulled in from private servers into the clients
browser interface, similar to how google maps currently works?

Thanks,
Tim

Check out the Google Visualization API (http://code.google.com/apis/
visualization/documentation/gallery.html); it has similar types of
visualizations, and you can hook it up to a private data source.

Ah - I see, thank you.
This is very exciting stuff. I've got a bunch of ideas to start
working on now.

Cheers.

Ouch, from what I can see there's no way to create a motion chart
overlaying a google map (as shown with the public data explorer
visualization showing US unemployment).
And it's too bad since that was the kind of visualization I was really
hoping to make use of.

Or did I miss it?

Unfortunately, there is no equivalent to our animated map chart in the
Google Visualization API. Maybe you should check out some third-party
libraries like Protovis (http://vis.stanford.edu/protovis/)? These
third party libraries often offer more flexibility than the Google-
provided ones, but unfortunately take a lot more code to set up and
get working. Hope this helps,
