We are developing an educational kit for architecture/ planning students to introduce the idea of car-free mobility and spaces. We hope to run a design studio in the coming term for students in at least 3-4 colleges.
For this, we are looking for photos of existing designated car-free/ car-restricted areas/ streets/ neighbourhoods in Indian cities. These may be traditional ones like Tulshibaug in Pune, or new ones like Gangtok MG Road, or even weekend / annual experiments. Some places I know of are: Shimla Mall Road, Mussoorie Mall Road, Gangtok MG Road, Matheran, Mahabaleshwar, Pune Tulshibaug, NoMoZo experiment in Panjim Goa.
However, we don't have photos even of these.
Please send in photos/ information that you may have. And if you know people in these locations, please share this request for photos and info.
Look forward to your contributions.
