Hi FRC Team 1195,
Like always, tonight was a progressive night as well. The students are getting further along in their mechanical design. Pretty soon we will be configuring the electronics around those mechanical pieces.
Note to all: Mr. Jones brought by both the blue and red bumper kits from AndyMark. The bumpers do not have to bagged on 19 Feb. We can probably use the wood from last years bumpers but perhaps not all of it. Please read the team updates at
http://frc-manual.usfirst.org/Updates/0#term%2070. Also, notice the belaying device that we would have to put on both ends of the robot for aid in releasing it from the pyramid. Furthermore, the new classmate notebook is now communicating wirelessly with the robot. The gateway is 10.11.95.4. Just make your laptop's ip address to be something above x.x.x.4. Thanks to Mr. Hurd for his troubleshooting and configuring the wireless router! The programming students have gotten more familiar with LabVIEW. All of the students are engaged and showing interest. It is not all about robots. It is all about you!! Also, you choose your destiny.
See you Wed (6 Feb) from 5:30pm-8:30pm at Central High School, Rm 206. Furthermore, we need all of your dedicated attention for the clock is ticking. We have 2 more weeks from tomorrow to get done building. We can continue building 30lbs to upgrade/replace after 19 Feb thru 28 Mar for the 28-30 Mar FRC Washington DC Regional, Walter E Washington Convention Center.
PLEASE do not forget that we need to submit the Chairman's Award by 21 Feb, via Jerod Neal's STIMS login, or NASA will request their $5000 grant back. We know that we will get it done! Including the robot that NASA expects us to bag and tag for the Regional.
