Vista no work?

I tried to connect at Buffalo Gap from a Fujitsu laptop running Vista
Business and got the error:

"There may be a problem with your Domain Name Server (DNS) configuration"

The laptop is connected (solid line between my computer and the wifi
network) but has the dreaded red x between the local network and the
Internet (thus also says "local access only"). I tried the autofix by
clicking on the red x and that's when the error comes up. Any ideas? I know
the wifi works on my secured network at home.
