The City of Portland has the bids in for the MetroFi canister removal.
There were about a dozen bids, everywhere from $36K to $322,500. The
lowest three bidders were
1. EC Company, Portland - ($36,700)
2. Dryer Electronics - ($58,196)
3. Dry Canyon, Redmond - ($61,014)

Those nice cylindrical public art pieces I see all over town? What
about keeping them up there to be used as possible advertising
space..sell it to google as ad space for the possible new FTTH project
in Portland? That will involve no cost to take em down and a potential
income for use.
