Raw files are what the name implies - raw data. They have no sharpening =
applied and no noise reduction etc etc etc.=20

Jpeg files have been processed from the raw files by the camera =
manufacturers software and will include fairly appropriate levels of =
noise reduction.

All Raw processing software allows you to add your own noise reduction - =
either more or less than the manufacturer thinks appropriate.
