Hi,
I have one problem. I do not know what is going on BUT sometimes when
I take pictures for 360°VP sharpens is fine and no noise on the
picture. Then I go just to another room or place and grrrrrrr.
I think that I'm taking pictures "same" for all locations BUT some
locations have none, some small and some a lot of noise.
I'm not professional photographer and I'm learning from guys like you
so I'm sure you have some good advise for an amateur like me :)
I'm using ALWAYS tripod, Nikon D80 + Sigma 8mm.

Do you have your camera set to manual? If not, the camera may be adjusting the exposure in a way that changes the ISO setting. A higher ISO number can make more noise. Also longer exposures can make more noise.

Thank you for your reply.
As I remember I always have on M mode. Once I've take pictures in very dark church (no lights) and it turn out perfect. Now I take in one biger room for some small concerts and is ... well not good.
But yes I will try to be more carefull and double check on location with zoom on camera.

If you shoot in raw mode, you can clean up the noise with Lightroom or Adobe Camera Raw.
Also, NeatImage has good software to clean up noise and sharpen at the same time.

Ivan, check that your ISP is not on auto. You may be shooting in manual but the ISP on auto will be anywhere and everywhere ;-)

Thanks for asking this question. I was shooting yesterday and shot 3
panos. One interior of a church, no problem, one on a porch shot hdr
no problem, one more on same porch and I have areas around seams that
are foggy and greyed out. I ended up using the mask feature to remove
the grey/noise. I have had other where there will be small areas like
this that I do not see until the pano is finished, this being my fault
for not inspecting well prior to creating the pano. I shot on all
manual (WB,focus,ISO,exposure) and am still confused as to why this
happens. Any info gathered is appreciated.

Are you certain that Auto ISO hasn't been turned on by mistake ? See page 88, of the English manual, See below;
7: ISO Auto (P, S, A, and M Modes Only)
If Off (the default setting) is selected, ISO sensitivity will remain fixed at
the value selected with the ISO button ( 43) or using the ISO sensitivity
option in the shooting menu ( 83).
If On is selected, ISO sensitivity will automatically be adjusted if optimal exposure can not be
achieved at the selected value (flash level is adjusted appropriately).
If it were set to ON then in the darker images you would indeed get more noise as it will turn the ISO level up to try and compensate.

PTGui tries to adjust the brightness of adjacent images such that there

is no visible seam. If images have different brightness in the overlap
area (which also might be the case if something moved there) the darker
image is brightened which necessarily amplifies shadow noise. Contrast
may be lowered due to blending in the overlap which causes those foggy
and greyed areas.

I would check that your camera is not set to auto ISO.
It is possible to put a Nikon on manual but have Auto ISO selected.
If you use the bracketing function it will then bracket by altering the ISO. Higher the ISO, greater the noise.
