Subject: File sizes that increase drastically

Hello everyone.  I have a problem where my files sizes are increasing when
brought into PS.  I am try to make my 6000 x 3000 pano between 900k and
1.2MB for quick loading on mobile devices.  Here is my workflow:

1.  After stitching, I set create panorama to 70% quality.
2.  PTGui generates a pano that is 3MB.
3.  I open pano in PS, mostly to scan for editable mistakes and apply nadir
cap.
4.  In PS the file size indicated is 51.5MB

Why does the file increase in size so much?

PS needs to decompress the file in order to edit and it shows the
decompressed size. 51.5 MB is exactly 6000x3000x3 Bytes (3 for each
pixel color).

If intend to edit your panorama you should stitch to TIFF, not to JPG.
JPG is a compressed, lossy format and you loose quality by recompressing
it from PS. Adjust your final file size in PS Save to Web dialog.
