Subject: Simple way to batch switch imported JPG set to TIFFS?
Hey Joost,

I have what seems to be a simple problem and I'm hoping there's an
equally simple solution...

I have many large projects that I have built in PTGUI using 400+ image
sets of JPGs. I have performed months of masking work on all of these
PTGUI files.

My clients now requesting true 16bit output .PSBs. as final renders.
Now I know to do this I need to re-import the images by switching out
the .jpgs for 16bit TIFF versions. Is there a simple way to do this?
The images have the same names they simple have different extensions,
so for instance instead of "_MG_3065.jpg" I would want to switch it
out for "_MG_3065.tif"

As always, thankful that you and your talents exist on this planet.

Gavin D Farrell

Can you not just do a global change using a text editor on the .PTS file ?
for .jpg to .tif

Yes that should work; just open the .pts file in a text editor (remember
to make a backup first!) and replace .jpg with .tif.

If the tif files are converted from raw files make sure that they have
the same geometry as the original jpegs. Cropping and correcting for
barrel or CA distortion changes the geomertry.
