We are using Psi 0.15 for Windows with Communigate Pro acting as an XMPP server for IM/CHAT.

The client works very well, but we have one oddity that is annoying us. Specifically, This course of events occurs:

1.) Double-click an entry in the roster window to begin a chat.
2.) The "address bar" at the top of the window shows that user's nickname and address.
3.) Compose and send a message.
4.) Receive back a response.
5.) The "address bar" changes to display the nickname and address/resource.
6.) The chat history flows as expected.
7.) Close the window.
8.) Double-click the same user in the roster and send another message.
9.) The address bar again does not include the resource.
10.) Compose and send a message.
11.) When the response comes back, a separate window/tab will open with the address/resource at the top.
12.) The chat histories are now separate and disjointed.

The result looks like the attached picture (note the timestamps).

This thread (https://groups.google.com/forum/?fromgroups#!topic/psi-users/y8xkCw6enRU) discusses something similar, and also mentions hiding the resource in Account Setup, but I cannot seem to locate the setting.

Is this a known issue, or just something that I have misconfigured?

Many thanks,

Tom

OK, I found the setting in Account Setup, it is on the "Misc" tab. Specifically, "Use hostname as resource." You can uncheck that box and specify any string you wish. If you leave it blank, a random resource is generated.

Making changes to that setting did not change my problem, it still behaved in the same manner, but the resource was different.

You can try to use Psi+ with "autojid" option enabled.
