Thunderbird: 2.0.0.14
Lightning 0.8 (2008033118)
Provider for Google Calendar: 0.4
OS: Ubuntu 8.04

When going to: File --> New --> Calendar, "Calendar" is grayed out
and cannot be selected. I've uninstalled and reinstalled the
extensions..no luck. Any suggestions?

Cheers,

Steve

Sounds like a known lightning bug. Please check out your error
console.

I found this fix on another thread.

http://blogs.sun.com/beuchelt/entry/thunderbird_lightning_and_the_ubuntu

I installed libstdc++ 5 using Synaptic, once installed I removed the
Lightning extension, restarted Thunderbird then reinstalled Lightning .
8 and it worked.

I have lightning 0.8 on thunderbird 2.0.0.14 on windows vista.
When I clicked on 'File->New' Calandar option is shown as grayed out.

Then I clicked on 'Go | Calendar" menu. Now when I checked 'File-
>New' Calandar option is enabled

Asif, this sounds like [bug 428324]. A workaround is provided in
comment #0.
