Hi, I try to install Camelot on Ubuntu 10.10. I installed Camelot and
all dependencies with easy_install.

So I guess I have Qt4.7, PyQt4.7.4 and Sqlalchemy 0.6.5.

If I try the videostore exampel I get an error when I try to run
main.py

http://pastebin.ca/2004637

Any Idea?

Hi,

unfortunately, Ubuntu 10.10 comes with a slightly buggy version
of PyQt.

it is adviced to use Camelot with the latest Qt and PyQt versions,
so I can only suggest you create your own build.

I have put my own build commands on :

http://downloads.conceptive.be/downloads/camelot/doc/sphinx/build/advanced/debug.html

Regards,

Erik

Hi, I have installed (compiled) PyQt4.8.1 now and Camelot is running
as far as I see. Now I can "Play around"

Hi,

So, how to deploy a Camelot application on some Ubuntu 10.10
computers ? Does it requires to rebuild Qt and PyQt on each computer ?
This is a long process...

Regards,
Pascal

Hello Pascal,

what I usually do is create a build that is installed in /opt/...
and then copy this folder across all computers.

I think you can as well use the debian packaging system
to build custom versions of PyQt / Qt, but I'm not familiar
with them.

Thanks Erik,

On launchpad, I've found SIP and Pyqt 4 next release packages :
https://launchpad.net/ubuntu/natty/+package/python-sip
https://launchpad.net/ubuntu/natty/+source/python-qt4

Applying them to Ubuntu 10.10 (instead of 11.04) resolve the Camelot
issue.

Pascal

I'm using the Kubuntu Beta Backport PPA from Launchpad

https://launchpad.net/~kubuntu-ppa/+archive/beta/+index?start=75&batch=75

Works fine here.
