Gar Alperovitz, Frances Moore Lappé and Robert Reich 1-5-12

Our first guest Gar Alperovitz is the author of the new book " America Beyond Capitalism: Reclaiming Our Wealth, Our Liberty and Our Democracy". Gar is the Lionel R. Bauman Professor of Political Economy at the University of Maryland and co-founder of the Democracy Collaborative, is a political economist and historian. Among his many books are Unjust Deserts (with Lew Daly), Rebuilding America (with Jeff Faux), and The Decision to Use the Atomic Bomb.

 

At 8:00 Larry Krizan will talk to Frances Moore Lappé author of the new book "Ecomind: Changing the Way We Think, to Create the World We Want." She is author of seventeen books including Diet for a Small Planet. She is the co founder of three organizations, including Food First: The Institute for Food and Development Policy and, more recently, the Small Planet Institute.

 

We will end with a talk Robert Reich given to Occupy Cal on 11-15-11. He is a Professor of Public Policy at UC Berkeley,  and was former United States Secretary of Labor under Bill Clinton. Reich Has written 13 books and the newest one is "Aftershock: The Next Economy and America's Future." The talk is titled "Class Warfare in America " and was given on the Mario Savio Steps in Sproul Plaza at the Univ. of Berkely.
