Friends and Advocates:

Representatives of Friends of Historic Preservation have presented testimony this afternoon at the House Taxation Committee's hearing on House Bill 2560, a bill that would negatively affect the state historic tax credit program.  Among the conferees were Preservation Consultant Brenda Spencer, Wichita Public Relations Manager Dale Goter, and Developer Ross Freeman (Pioneer Group).  I have attached the testimony of these three, as well as written testimony of the Colonial Fox Theatre Foundation, Sterling Services and Garrison Development.  The Committee did not ask any questions of the presenters.  Thank you all for presenting and submitting testimony!  The House Committee heard testimony from proponents yesterday, opponents today and is expected to continue consideration of the bill through Monday.

We will continue to track legislation that could affect the historic tax credit program.
