Don and Laura Flippin expressed their appreciation for the pastor and other Prescott people who attended last night's visitation for Ron Bradley, Laura's brother-in-law who passed away suddenly last Thursday.  The funeral is at 11 this morning at the Getwell Road United Methodist Church in Southaven.  Please continue to pray for the family, especially Ron's widow (Laura's sister) Vickie and the Bradleys' son Lee.

Thanks to Annette Bickers for sharing the following information on a Prescott friend (Sravanthi Janga) and former Prescott members (the Fullers).

Sravanthi Janga was married to Robinson Gurrala on Oct. 10 in Houston, TX.  The groom is a minister's son.  The most recent address we have for Sravanthi is 8810 Saddle Horn Dr. #225, Irving, TX 75063.

L.B. and Loretta Fuller, Prescott members a number of years ago, will celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary this Friday, Dec. 18.  L.B.'s parents had a stained-glass window given in their honor in our old facility.  Their son Bryant is a Navy captain recently named commander of a submarine base in Maine -- see story below.

KITTERY, Maine -- The next commander of the Portsmouth Naval Shipyard was announced yesterday by the Naval Sea Systems Command.

Capt. Bryant Fuller will take over for Capt. Robert Mazzone this fall.

Mazzone took command of the shipyard in July 2007.

Portsmouth Naval Shipyards' primary mission has been to overhaul, repair and modernize the Los Angeles Class submarines
.

"The major work done on the Los Angeles class for almost 10 years has essentially come to an end," said Pat Dolan of the office of corporate communications for NAVSEA.

Now, the shipyard will take the lead on the Virginia Class submarines with the first boat scheduled to arrive in October 2010. In addition to doing maintenance on the
submarines, the shipyard will take the lead for all four shipyards on planning and procedures for the new class of boats.

Changing the commander this fall will allow for continuous leadership as the shipyard finishes the ongoing planning to get ready for Virginia Class boats and during the maintenance of the first boat in 2010, according to a press release from Naval Sea Systems Command.

Fuller is a native of Tennessee and is currently the operations officer at Puget Sound Naval Shipyard and Intermediate Maintenance Facility in Washington state.

He has served in a variety of engineering and combat systems positions, including working as an assistant project superintendent and project superintendent for multiple sub projects at Puget Sound and Portsmouth Naval shipyards.
