LOOKING AHEAD TO THANKSGIVING AND CHRISTMAS
SATURDAY, NOV. 21
6:30 p.m. GLBT meets
SUNDAY, NOV. 22: Christ the King Sunday
10:45 a.m. During worship we’ll offer a multi-lingual Call to Worship; dedicate the Prayer Shawls that some of our members and friends have been making; and receive an offering for Neighborhood Outreach. The Scripture text is John 18:33-37. Join us for Coffee Talk after worship in Fellowship Hall.
This Sunday we’ll also welcome some dear friends from Australia who’ll be visiting us, the Dyers: Keith, Lynne, Daniel, and Reuben. The Dyers attended Prescott some ten years ago when Keith was teaching at MTS.
12:15 p.m. Special Events Committee will meet in the Conference Room to make Thanksgiving plans.
7:00 p.m. All University Cluster Church members are invited to a contemporary community Thanksgiving service in Fellowship Hall at St. Luke’s United Methodist Church, 480 S. Highland, celebrating Thanksgiving and featuring our favorite "turkey" to which we’ll attach Food Pantry offerings.
TUESDAY, NOV. 24
6:30 p.m. We’ll have our 26th annual Thanksgiving dinner in Fellowship Hall, with the combined congregations of Prescott, Beulah Baptist, and the Unitarian Fellowship. We generally have a huge crowd for this potluck feast, so bring plenty of food – more than just for yourself. As is our custom, we’ll pray and sing and talk, and of course eat.
WEDNESDAY-FRIDAY, NOV. 25-27
As we’ll be partied out from the previous day’s feast, we’ll have no Wed. dinner or program, and the church office will be closed Thursday and Friday for Thanksgiving.
SATURDAY, NOV. 28
Come to St. Luke’s Methodist at 3:00 p.m. (or earlier if you can help cook) to help serve Saturday Supper. We expect an even larger than usual crowd for this event, which will feature Thanksgiving turkey and all the trimmings. Instead of the usual cafeteria line, we’ll serve our guests at tables. Our sisters and brothers from Beulah Baptist will be there to work with us, once again partners in Christ. People of all ages can help. The youth are asked to arrive at 4:00 p.m. and to arrange to be picked up at 5:15 p.m.
NOTE: It will be our turn to do Saturday Supper next on Dec. 19, the Saturday before Christmas. Once again we’ll serve our guests at tables, and in addition we’ll have Christmas presents to hand out. We especially need donations of mittens, hats, scarves, for all ages. If you’d like to donate money for this, you can do it through the church as a designated offering or give money to Ruth Holland, who can buy such items wholesale.

Also this day, we’ll begin receiving $3 Angel Tree donations in honor or memory of persons. Angel Tree beneficiaries will be students at three schools: Nancy Gray’s, Joyce Wood’s, and Prescott’s Adopt-A-School, Sherwood Elementary.
